Jeff Bezos’ Florida Real Estate Empire Could Be Growing With $69 Million Golden Beach Mansion: Report

A $69.5 million oceanfront mansion in Golden Beach, Florida, has reportedly been linked to Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) founder Jeff Bezos, although his involvement in the purchase has not been confirmed.

The 17,500-square-foot estate at 255 Ocean Boulevard sold in September, breaking a local sales record. Property records show Delaware-based Meridian Coast LLC bought it, and sources familiar with the transaction told The Real Deal the buyer is tied to Bezos, reported Fox Business on Thursday.

Sale and Buyer Links

Devin Kay of The Exclusive Group at Douglas Elliman told Fox Business, "I can’t speak to whether Jeff Bezos is involved in this particular transaction," but said the acquisition would make sense for someone with an existing footprint on Indian Creek.

Kay added that there is a tendency to attach recognizable names to extraordinary transactions when a buyer’s identity is protected. Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman represented the seller, and Jill Eber and Hillary Hertzberg of The Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker Realty represented the buyer, according to the report.

Representatives for Bezos, Meridian Coast and The Real Deal did not immediately respond to Benzinga’s request for comment.

Oceanfront Scarcity Premium

Jordan Karp, Miami’s No. 9 agent by sales, told Fox Business that Golden Beach is the only neighborhood where homes sit directly on the sand, with about 60 homes in total on the strip. Karp said buyers are paying a scarcity premium for the land, and that inventory is shrinking as buyers purchase two or three adjacent lots to build compounds.

Golden Beach has historically been known as a quieter, family-oriented enclave with its own municipal police force and zoning that prohibits high-rise developments, Fox Business noted. Kay said sales in the $50 million to nearly $70 million range are changing how the market values the area.

Indian Creek Footprint

If Bezos is confirmed as the buyer, the purchase would add to his existing $234 million real estate portfolio on Indian Creek Island, according to the report.

Indian Creek Island, nicknamed the "Billionaire Bunker," is home to fewer than 100 residents and has its own police force. In April 2024, Bezos reportedly agreed to pay about $90 million in an off-market deal for a mansion on the island. He planned to live there temporarily while preparing to demolish two neighboring homes he had bought.
