Let's see how precious metals close the year with the SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) and the ETFS Physical Palladium Shares (NYSE: PALL).

The SPDR S&P Homebuilders ETF (NYSE: XHB) was up 3.6% on Thursday.

The U.S. Natural Gas Fund (NYSE: UNG) continues to spiral lower.

Emerging markets plays of the day: Direxion Daily Latin America Bull 3X Shares (NYSE: LBJ), iShares MSCI Chile Investable Market Index Fund (NYSE: ECH) and the iShares FTSE China 25 Index Fund (NYSE: FXI).

Forex play of the day: CurrencyShares Euro Trust (NYSE: FXE).

Bond play of the day: Market Vectors High-Yield Muni ETF (NYSE: HYD).
