Trading The CES (MMI, AAPL, HPQ, DELL, INTC)

Rumors are that Motorola Mobility MMI is planning on releasing a tablet PC at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show, that starts this week. Motorola Mobility is the higher growth portion of the old Motorola, as it contains the smartphone segment, as well as the set top boxes. A tablet from Motorola, presumably built on Google's GOOG Android operating system would be a new market for Motorola that it hasn't previously been in. Tablets and smartphones are expected to see tremendous growth at this years CES, with new offerings from Dell DELL, Hewlett-Packard HPQ, Research in Motion RIMM and others. According to Oppenheimer chip companies like Qualcomm QCOM, Skyworks Solutions SWKS, RF Micro Devices RFMD and Brightpoint, Inc. CELL will benefit from the CES. Nvidia NVDA is also a name that could benefit from the CES, as its new graphics chips are implemented into the tablets and smartphones. Other names being mentioned as beneficiaries are ARM Holdings ARMH and NXP Semiconductors NV NXPI. ARM Holdings has been a huge beneficiary from Apple's products, such as the iPad and iPhone. While no one is expecting the Verizon VZ version of Apple's AAPL iPhone or a new iPad at the event, there are plenty of other ways for investors and traders to capitalize on these products via add-ons at the CES. Disclosure: long NXPI, ARMH
