Hardware manufacturers like Dell
DELL, Hewlett-Packard
HPQ, Research in Motion
RIMM and Samsung and chip makers such as Intel
INTC, Texas Instruments
TXN and Qualcomm
QCOM are seeking to get their entries into the tablet market.
The CES will be held next week, and is likely to feature a number of these products.
Caris & Co. analyst Craig Ellis said that he expects at least 69 entries into the tablet market, up from 38 last month. Ellis said he sees shipments next year of 53.6 million tablets, 36.1 million of which are Apple iPads.
Ellis was particularly positive on ARM Holdings
ARMH, as the company's chips account for about three-quarters of the tablets.
