The fellow student, who was Sri Lankan, then went on to solve the problem by writing down three pages of detailed algebraic equations, and the answer was Cosine.
Bezos then asked him, &#8220;Did you just do that in your head,&#8221; to which he replied that this was a similar problem he solved three years ago, and was able to &#8220;map&#8221; it the same way.&nbsp;

De Niro said that he didn't mean to scare Americans and voters, but their freedoms are on the line in the 2024 presidential election.
"If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted. And elections — forget about it. That's over, that's done. If he gets in, I can tell you right now, he will never leave."
After speaking at the courthouse, De Niro clashed with several pro-Trump protestors who called the actor a "wannabe" and "little punk" whose "movies suck," NBC News reported.
"You're not going to intimidate. That's what Trump does. We are going to fight back. We're trying to be gentlemen in this world, the Democrats. You are gangsters."
In the clash with the protestors, De Niro was heard saying "F&#x2A;&#x2A;&#x2A; you" to a protestor. The video was shared by Trump on his Truth Social account Tuesday.

Paulson recommends that if you have $100,000, you could put it down towards a $1 million home. Capital appreciation should help you increase the value of your $100,000 investment while you service the $900,000 loan.
"The longer you wait, the more the house is going to appreciate and the greater return you'll have on your equity investment."

Paulson also believes gold is another good avenue for investment. "There's a very limited amount of investable gold. It's on the order of several trillion dollars, while the total amount of financial assets is closer to $200 trillion."
He says gold is the "logical place" to go to when inflation is on the rise. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. consumer price index (CPI) inflation <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/real-estate/24/05/38896356/housing-costs-drive-persistent-inflation-as-april-cpi-reflects-ongoing-pressures">came in at 3.4% for April</a>, higher than the long-term average of 3.28%.
Beyond housing and gold, Paulson's advice for investors is to invest in areas "that you know well" and that luck is not a long-term strategy.

Closing arguments in the hush money trial that alleges Donald Trump falsified business records began on Tuesday<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/politics/24/05/39043449/trump-guilty-or-not-guilty-hush-money-trial-verdict-not-so-simple-5-possible-outcomes"> in the multi-week trial.</a>
The jury could begin deliberating on the trial as early as Wednesday. Here are the key highlights from Tuesday's closing arguments.
What Happened: The prosecution in the case <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/social-media/24/05/38950334/trump-declines-to-testify-in-stormy-daniels-case-defense-rests-weve-won-the-case-by-any-stan">called 20 witnesses</a> to the stand during the trial, including key witnesses Stormy Daniels and former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen.
Closing arguments from Trump's defense tried to discredit both witnesses, with a particular focus on painting Cohen as a liar.
Trump's defense team also upset Judge Juan Merchan with lawyer Todd Blanche telling the jury that they should not put the former president in prison, as <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/live-blog/trump-trial-live-updates-closing-statements-hush-money-case-rcna153996">reported </a>by NBC News. 
"You cannot send someone to prison based on the words of Michael Cohen," Blanche told the jury.
Merchan told the jury that the comment was "improper" and they must disregard it.
"If there is a verdict of guilty, it will be up to me to impose a sentence," Merchan told the jury.
Merchan said that a guilty verdict in the trial does not require a prison sentence.
During his closing arguments Blanche called Cohen the "greatest liar of all time," and referred to him as the "GLOAT," a potential take on the greatest of all time (GOAT) acronym used in sports.
Blanche said Cohen has lied to the jury, his family and the Department of Justice.
"He's literally like the MVP of liars."
Blanche outlined the evidence in the trial and the jury needing to decide based on the evidence and not their opinions of Trump or their political leanings.

Why It's Important: Cohen's testimony was also a key focus of the prosecution who began their closing arguments after lunch on Tuesday. Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass told the jury that Cohen's testimony said that Cohen is only a piece of the trial and a witness.
"This case is not about Michael Cohen," Steinglass said. "This case is about Donald Trump."
In saying that Cohen was not the main character in the trial, Steinglass told the jury to think of the former Trump lawyer as a "tour guide" through the evidence.
"We didn't choose Michael Cohen. We didn't pick him up at the witness store. Mr. Trump chose Mr. Cohen for the same qualities his attorneys now urge you to reject."
The prosecution told the jury not to feel bad for Cohen. The prosecution also said that while Daniels' testimony was "uncomfortable" it was a key to show that Trump didn't want voters in the 2016 election to hear the details of their encounter.
Steinglass said that other witnesses in the trial confirmed Cohen and Daniels' testimony.
Closing arguments are continuing at the time of writing with Merchan saying that the trial will go until at least 7 p.m. ET Tuesday to "finish this out if we can."

The cryptocurrency market continues to see increased interest in 2024 from new investors. The door could be open for new investors to gain exposure to cryptocurrency Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/eth/usd">ETH</a>) after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/05/38995513/sec-approves-spot-ethereum-etfs-opening-door-for-mainstream-investors">approved spot Ethereum ETFs recently</a>.
With the news and potential positive catalyst, cryptocurrency investors don't appear ready to sell their Ethereum yet.
What Happened: The approval of Ethereum ETFs follows the<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/03/37498047/exclusive-bitcoin-hits-new-all-time-high-heres-when-benzinga-readers-think-100k-milestone-"> approval of Bitcoin ETFs in January</a> — one of the biggest news items in the history of Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) and cryptocurrency.
The approval of Bitcoin ETFs led to the leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin hitting new all-time highs earlier this year.
Ethereum gained momentum with the ETF approval. So far, it has not hit new all-time highs.
Benzinga recently asked its followers on X, formerly known as Twitter, at what price Ethereum investors would consider selling their cryptocurrency.
"Now that the Ethereum ETFs are approved, at what price point would you consider selling your Ether holdings?" <a href="https://x.com/Benzinga/status/1794016546836119776">Benzinga asked.</a>
Here are the possible answers and poll results:

<li>When ETH reaches $5K: 23.6%</li>
<li>When ETH surpasses $10K: 50%</li>
<li>Hold regardless of price: 26.4%</li>
</ul>
The poll results show that investors don't appear ready to sell Ethereum even if new all-time highs are hit.

Why It's Important: Ethereum hit an all-time high of $4,891.70 on Nov. 16, 2021. The cryptocurrency has traded as high as $4,092.28 over the past year.
Over 75% of respondents said they wouldn't sell Ethereum if it hit $5,000, choosing to instead hold out for $10,000 or to hold regardless of the price.
Holding until Ethereum hits a price of $10,000 getting half of the vote might signal that Ethereum investors aren't ready to hold their cryptocurrency for as long as Bitcoin investors are. Bitcoin has been known to have many long-term holders who don't want to sell regardless of price.
ETH Price Action: Ethereum trades at $3,840.64 on Tuesday versus a 52-week trading range of $1,523.24 to $4,092.28.
Ethereum is up 62.9% year-to-date and up 100% over the last year, trailing the 53.4% and 141.5% returns of Bitcoin, respectively.
