Bitcoin to Reach $1M by 2030? Mark Moss Says It Could Happen

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) could reach $1 million by 2030 and potentially $43 million by 2050 if it captures a growing share of global wealth, according to outspoken investor Mark Moss.

Why BTC Could Reach $1 Million by 2030

Moss challenged veteran investor Jeremy Grantham, who famously warned about the dot-com bubble and the 2008 financial crisis and predicted Bitcoin could eventually decline toward zero.

Rather than relying on historical Bitcoin price patterns, halving cycles or stock-to-flow models, Moss applied a venture capital valuation framework.

The approach estimates Bitcoin’s future value based on the size of markets it could disrupt and the percentage of those markets it might capture.

He identified real estate, equities, bonds, gold, fiat money and collectibles as competing stores of wealth.

According to his model, these markets collectively represented around $994 trillion in 2025, potentially expanding to $1.5 quadrillion by 2030.

If Bitcoin captures just 1.5% of that market, Moss estimates its market capitalization could reach $21 trillion, translating to almost $1 million per Bitcoin.

Moss projected the global store-of-value market could reach $3 quadrillion by 2040 and $6 quadrillion by 2050, potentially pushing Bitcoin to $11 million and $43 million, respectively, assuming market penetration of 8% and 15%.

He argued Bitcoin could soar by capturing small shares of traditional asset markets, though projections hinge on speculative adoption assumptions.

What Will Drive BTC’s Next Rally

Moss highlighted growing institutional adoption as a key catalyst for Bitcoin’s long-term appreciation, citing portfolio allocation recommendations ranging from 1% at JPMorgan to 7% at BBVA.

He argued that even modest increases in institutional exposure could drive substantial capital inflows, supported by expanding access through banks, brokerages and financial advisers.

On Oct.12, CryptoQuant’s Axel Adler noted that the market absorbed 220,374 BTC last week, while net exchange outflows of 3,863 BTC signaled sustained buying demand despite elevated inflows.

Moss also pointed to Bitcoin’s fixed supply and rising government debt as factors strengthening its long-term appeal.
