Shares of Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) surged higher by 4.01% today to close at $38.64. The move came on heavy volume with 11.7 million shares traded versus the 6.9 million average.

Tech Ticker's Aaron Task interviewed Arun Motianey, author of the book "Super Cycles" and a senior strategist at RGE Monitor. Motianey said that the three most likely investing scenarios to come out of the current economic cycle are inflation without indexation, inflation with indexation and deflation.

Last Wednesday the markets were comforted by Fed chairman Ben Bernanke’s comments that the US economy is in a nascent recovery that requires interest rates to be kept low. Banks are breathing a sigh of relief that the recent rise in the discount rate will not lead to significant rate increase.
