The video conferencing segment encompasses the design, manufacturing and marketing of video conferencing products, infrastructure and services for the enterprise, public sector, and other business markets. Video conferencing products include scalable HD (high-definition) video communication endpoints, HD video conferencing systems with integrated monitors, video bridges and other infrastructure software and hardware to support large-scale video deployments, and services to support these products. The video conferencing segment maintains a separate marketing and sales organization, which sells LifeSize products and services. The Company sells its peripheral products to a network of distributors, retailers and OEMs. Its competitors for remotes include Philips, Universal Remote Control, Inc., General Electric, RCA and Sony. The Company is subject to laws and regulations in many jurisdictions regulating the materials used in the products and, increasingly, product-related energy consumption, and the recycling of the products and packaging.
