&#8220;Unless investors can seek superior returns in other asset classes, being out of the equity market may not have been the best strategy, with stocks still delivering positive six-month returns, on average, over all the May-October periods studied,&#8221; Turnquist said in a recent note.
Tom Lee of Fundstrat also ran the calculations and discovered that since 1985, &#8220;May has been a surprisingly good month.&#8221; 
Market strategist Ryan Detrick of Carson Group also noted the positive returns during this period, particularly in May, which has seen positive stock market returns in nine of the past ten years, with an average gain of 0.7%.

Connecticut House passed Tuesday a bipartisan bill to regulate the cannabis and hemp industries in a 130-16 vote, sending it to the Senate.  
Measure&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.cga.ct.gov/2024/TOB/H/PDF/2024HB-05150-R00-HB.PDF" rel="noreferrer noopener">No. 5150</a>,&nbsp;&#8220;An Act Concerning Cannabis And Hemp Regulation,&#8221;&nbsp;would redefine high-THC hemp products, ban specific cannabis product advertising and promotion, and allow some hemp farmers to enter the marketplace.&nbsp;
"We can't ban them, but we can regulate the hell out of them," said Rep. Mike D'Agostino (D) co-chair of the General Law Committee as <a href="https://ctmirror.org/2024/04/30/ct-thc-beverages-law/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">reported</a> by CT Mirror. "We say, OK, those products need to be manufactured in accordance with our standards. They need to be labeled in accordance with our standards they have to be to have disclosures in accordance with our standards."
The initial version of the bill proposed limiting the amount of THC per serving to 0.5 milligrams, but this was amended to one milligram per serving, enabling sales in package stores and cannabis dispensaries.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The measure also strictly limits advertising for cannabis businesses, and&nbsp;establishes labeling and licensing rules.&nbsp;&nbsp;
"We need to make sure that the rules are&nbsp;being followed, that&nbsp;there's&nbsp;not a product out there that is unregulated,&nbsp;that is&nbsp;being sold&nbsp;to minors, that is&nbsp;being sold&nbsp;in convenience stores, that is outside of the strict structures that we created,"&nbsp;D'Agostino&nbsp;said.
Rep.&nbsp;Dave Rutigliano&nbsp;(R) was among many Republicans who are against cannabis legalization, but voted in favor of the bill.&nbsp;&nbsp;
"It's&nbsp;already legal. We&nbsp;can't&nbsp;make it unllegal.&nbsp;So&nbsp;what&nbsp;we've&nbsp;decided to&nbsp;do is&nbsp;try to regulate it in a way that makes a safer environment for everyone,"&nbsp;Rutigliano said.&nbsp;"Our goal this year, as it was last year, is to get THC products, intoxicating products out of our supermarkets, convenience stores and gas stations, to put it in a place where&nbsp;it's&nbsp;regulated, where&nbsp;it's&nbsp;taxed and controlled."
Promotions and discounts&nbsp;are also forbidden&nbsp;under this measure, and Rutigliano previously commented on that by saying,&nbsp;&#8220;We thought that commercialization of marijuana was supposed to be sort of a social justice kind of thing, to decriminalize it, not to promote it. The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill on March 13 that stated a requirement for ByteDance, a reputable Chinese tech company, to ban TikTok in the United States. The legislation, now known as the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/7521?s=1&amp;r=16">Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Application Act</a>, was forwarded by the U.S. government Reps. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) and Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) on March 5.



On March 7, the legislation garnered approval from the Energy and Commerce Committee, as it has been concerned over TikTok&rsquo;s control by a foreign adversary.



As TikTok&rsquo;s parent company, the bill is to compel ByteDance to sell its stake. Such legislation could lead to the app&rsquo;s disappearance within six months in the United States. However, the bill also faces challenges in the Senate, which needs to it through to the president before it becomes an official law. Moreover, problems like TikTok&rsquo;s close ties to China also loom in, adding more reason for lawmakers to ban the app due to possible security risks. Such risks include alleged data spying by the Chinese government.



Although TikTok&rsquo;s assurance of data protection, such as its very own Project Texas, is known, suspicion of user privacy is still a big concern for many in the U.S. government. While ByteDance has assured the public&rsquo;s worries about data privacy and social media impact are unfounded, analysts still see that targeting TikTok for a ban is not a full solution.



In fact, whether foreign or domestic companies, such agencies have avenues to access sensitive information from the U.S. through digital trade. Therefore, sanctioning only one app will not address broader issues.

The bill proceeds to the Senate amid uncertainty, with senators divided on its fate and previous attempts to ban TikTok stalling. Donald Trump&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2024/03/11/trump-says-a-tiktok-ban-would-empower-meta-slams-facebook-as-enemy-of-the-people.html">remark,</a> labeling Facebook an &ldquo;enemy,&rdquo; stood out, given his past efforts to remove TikTok over national security concerns. Data collection extends from smartphones and smart speakers to connected cars and dating apps. Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram may appear free, but users pay with their data.



These anonymized data, theoretically used for targeted advertising, often contain detailed personal information. A <a href="https://www.consumerreports.org/electronics/privacy/each-facebook-user-is-monitored-by-thousands-of-companies-a5824207467">study</a> found about 2,230 companies shared users&rsquo; data with Facebook. Governments worldwide, including the U.S., leverage these data markets to access extensive personal information without traditional legal processes.



<h2>Bottom Line</h2>



According to <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/03/26/biden-administration-tiktok-data-practices-00149139">Politico,</a> the Federal Trade Commission probed TikTok and ByteDance for misleading U.S. users about data access by individuals in China. Alleged violations of children&rsquo;s privacy laws were also investigated. With the Justice Department, the FTC may litigate or negotiate a settlement.



Even if the Senate approves the bill, TikTok plans to explore legal options before considering selling its U.S. operations. Former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin expressed interest in <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2024/03/14/steven-mnuchin-tiktok/72968619007/">assembling a group to buy TikTok.</a> However, major tech firms like Meta and Microsoft may refrain due to antitrust concerns. 



Any sale would also need Beijing&rsquo;s approval, and the buyer might not gain access to TikTok&rsquo;s proprietary algorithm. TikTok investors eye an IPO, but its value could decrease if it exits the U.S. market.

Further, the average price target lands at $48.75, with the most optimistic target reaching $51.



Notably, LiveRamp beat all its quarterly bottom-line targets for fiscal 2023 and by a wide margin. The average positive earnings surprise came out to an impressive 56.78%.



For fiscal 2024, experts see EPS hitting $1.47, above last year&rsquo;s print of 86 cents. Also, the company could ring up sales of $648.28 million, implying almost 9% year-over-year growth. It&rsquo;s one of the tech stocks ready to rebound.

Further, the average price target comes in at $38.13, with the high-side estimate landing at $45.



While its fiscal performance hasn&rsquo;t exactly lit up the board, it&rsquo;s consistently profitable. In 2023, Allegro beat all its quarterly bottom-line targets. Its average positive earnings surprise reached 6.65%. The best performance came in Q4, when it posted EPS of 32 cents against a 29-cent target.



For fiscal 2024, experts believe EPS will hit $1.32, up from last year&rsquo;s $1.28. Also, they&rsquo;re looking for sales growth of 7.2% YOY to $1.04 billion.



<h2>Intapp (INTA)</h2>

Indeed, the security lands a <a href="https://www.tipranks.com/stocks/inta/forecast">unanimous strong buy rating</a>. Notably, the average price target stands at $50.44, while the high-side estimate calls for $57.



Fiscally, one of Intapp&rsquo;s strengths is consistent profitability. Interestingly, experts keep doubting it. For example, in Q1, the company posted earnings of three cents per share against a breakeven target. In Q4, it posted EPS of 11 cents against a target of five cents.



For fiscal 2024, analysts see EPS of 34 cents, well above last year&rsquo;s print of 11 cents. And revenue could reach $425.04 million, up 21.1% YOY.



<h2>Sonos (SONO)</h2>

Enticingly, the <a href="https://www.tipranks.com/stocks/sono/forecast">average price target reaches $29.52</a> while the high-side estimate calls for $55. Of course, a main concern is that in the past 52 weeks, SONO has been all over the map.



Fiscally, the problem manifests in the bottom line. Overall, the average surprise in 2023 came in at 0.48%. That&rsquo;s not exactly encouraging. However, in Q4, the company delivered EPS of 64 cents against a target of 39 cents.



For fiscal 2024, analysts believe EPS will reach 25 cents. If so, that would be a dramatic shift from last year&rsquo;s print of a loss of eight cents per share. However, investors may need to wait till fiscal 2025 for revenue growth to materialize.



<h2>Braze (BRZE)</h2>

Overall, the average price target reaches $68.86, with the high-side estimate coming in at $80.



While the company isn&rsquo;t profitable, it is beating its bottom-line target. For fiscal 2023, the average surprise jumped to 45.18%. Its best performance was Q2, when Braze delivered a loss of 4 cents against expected red ink of 14 cents.



For the current fiscal year (2025), analysts are looking for significant growth: $574.15 million on the top line, beating out last year&rsquo;s print of $471.8 million by 21.7%.



<h2>Coursera (COUR)</h2>

Given the changes in the workforce post-pandemic, COUR could be an intriguing idea for tech stocks ready to rebound.



Now, don&rsquo;t get me wrong &ndash; COIUR is extremely volatile. With that, the analysts&rsquo; consensus view comes in at a <a href="https://www.tipranks.com/stocks/cour/forecast">moderate buy</a>. Still, I suppose the optimist might say that a buy is a buy. Not only that, the average price target of $23.20 will likely pique curiosity among bullish speculators. Also, the low-side target of $15 still implies growth.



Despite the heightened risk profile, Coursera gets the business done. For example, the company posted EPS of 6 cents in Q4, above analysts estimation of a breakeven quarter. It also beat out quarterly projections earlier in the year by a wide margin.



For fiscal 2024, experts see significant growth: a revenue target of $736.45 million or 15.8% up from last year&rsquo;s print of $635.76 million. Thus, it could be one of the tech stocks ready to rebound.

The company surpassed the consensus EPS estimates. In this piece, I have looked into its fundamentals to deduce whether it is a potential buy or not.
SNX's EPS was 5.2% above the consensus estimate for the quarter. The company continued its stellar earnings history, beating the consensus EPS estimate in three of the trailing four quarters.
Rich Hume, CEO of SNX, said, "We generated strong results in our fiscal first quarter, driven by our expansive portfolio and an improving IT demand environment. This resulted in record margins, EPS at the upper end of our expectations, healthy free cash flow, and robust capital returned to shareholders,"
Further, the company demonstrated robust financial performance by returning $235 million to shareholders in the form of share repurchases and dividends, representing a substantial 59% increase from the prior fiscal first quarter.
Looking ahead, the company's BOD has authorized a share repurchase program of up to $2 billion of its common stock, supplementing the existing program with approximately $197 million remaining.

In the Asia-Pacific and Japan region, revenue amounted to $955 million, making up approximately 10% of total revenue.
In the upcoming fiscal 2024 second quarter, SNX anticipates revenue between $13.30 billion and $14.90 billion, with non-GAAP gross billings expected to range from $18.40 billion to $19.60 billion. Non-GAAP net income is estimated to fall between $219 million and $263 million, with non-GAAP EPS ranging from $2.50 to $3.
