Mid-Morning Market Update: Markets Mostly Lower; Texas Instruments Narrows Q3 Forecast

Following the market opening Wednesday, the Dow traded up 0.32 percent to 15,239.29 while the NASDAQ declined 0.36 percent to 3,715.56. The S&P also fell, dropping 0.14 percent to 1,681.71. Top Headline
Texas Instruments TXN narrowed its third-quarter forecast. Texas Instruments expects Q3 earnings of $0.51 to $0.55 per share on revenue of $3.15 billion to $3.29 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.53 per share on sales of $3.23 billion. In July, the company had expected sales of $3.09 billion to $3.35 billion. Equities Trading UP
Xoom XOOM shot up 5.77 percent to $32.45 after the company priced its follow-on offering of 4,403,270 shares of its common stock at a price of $30.50 per share. Shares of Polycom PLCM got a boost, shooting up 6.63 percent to $10.61 after the company announced the repurchase of $400 million of its common stock. Shares of Restoration Hardware Holdings RH were down 4.55 percent to $72.60 on Q2 results. Apple AAPL shares tumbled 4.87 percent to $470.53 as the company unveiled two new iPhones yesterday.
