Twitter Releases New App That's Specifically User-Focused

Twitter Inc TWTR released a new app called Engage, on which you only see things that happen to your account. In other words, the app will be most relevant for high-profile individuals — celebrities, public figures, high-ranking officials, politicians — as the app lacks the "pesky timeline distracting you with the thoughts of people who aren't you," CNN Money explained.

A blog from Matt Dennebaum, senior product manager, said Twitter Engage provides "real-time data and insights, allowing you to quickly understand, engage, and grow your audiences. As creators, influencers, and public figures, you have a special connection with your followers on Twitter."

With Engage, Twitter said it "made it easier to manage those daily interactions and measure success."

Twitter Engage, which is available only for iOS in the United States, "surfaces the most important follows and @mentions from influencers and loyal fans."

Engage has an "understand" tab displaying high-level analytics for posts, and a "posts" tab showing you detailed performance numbers for individual posts.

Twitter noted that Engage reviews all of your videos, GIFs, images and other Twitter activity, allowing you to "efficiently track post-by-post performance and continue the conversation around your content."

All that being said, this app may not be useful for regular users who are more interested in conversations.
