US Stock Futures Gain Ahead Of Economic Data

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on Durable goods orders for October, consumer spending for October and weekly jobless claims will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The FHFA house price index for September will be released at 9:00 a.m. ET, while the services PMI for November will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET. Data on new home sales for October and the University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index for November will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 38 points to 17,803.0, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 3 points to 2,087.75. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 7.38 points to 4,673.38.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were mostly higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 0.66 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index rising 1.23 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 1.44 percent. French CAC 40 Index climbed 1.31 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.94 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.39 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.40 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.88 percent.
