U.S. Navy Awards Leidos Prime Contract

Leidos LDOS, a national security, health, and engineering solutions company, was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Navy to provide scientific, engineering, and technical services in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD). The single-award, cost-plus fixed-fee indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a four-year period of performance and a total contract value of approximately $49 million. Work will be performed primarily in West Bethesda, Md. NSWCCD is the full-spectrum research and development, test and evaluation, engineering, and Fleet support organization for the Navy's ships, submarine, military watercraft, and unmanned vehicles. Under the contract, Leidos will provide scientific, engineering, and technical services required for the design, development, fabrication, integration, test, fleet implementation, and maintenance of synthetic signature generation-based training and analysis systems utilizing the All World Environment Simulation (AWESIM) and the Periscope Simulation (PSIM) visual simulation. "We look forward to continuing our work with NWSC Carderock to provide these highly sophisticated trainers used to train Navy operators in employing sensors in complex littoral environments against quiet diesel and nuclear submarines," said Leidos Group President John Fratamico.
