Elam Hitchner, III Joins CSS Industries' Board of Directors

CSS Industries CSS is pleased to announce that Elam (“Lee”) M. Hitchner, III has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Hitchner has significant experience as a leader and director of multiple publicly-held and privately-held companies. He is a former director of Destination Maternity Corporation DEST and of eResearch Technology, Inc., and served from time to time at both companies in various board leadership positions, including Chairman of the board of directors and Chairman of various board committees, including the audit and the governance committees. Mr. Hitchner currently serves as a director of Seabrook Brothers and Sons, Inc. He is a 1971 graduate of the Yale Law School, and during his legal career he has been affiliated with various law firms, including as a partner with the national law firm Pepper Hamilton LLC. From 1999 through 2001, he was a principal with Meridian Venture Partners, a venture capital firm. In announcing Mr. Hitchner's election, Jack Farber, Chairman of the Board of CSS, said, “We are pleased to have Lee join CSS Industries as a member of our Board of Directors.
