Freshwire, the digital content strategy, creation and syndication service, announced the hire of Sarah Amos as its Chief Creative Officer. Amos, a seven-year veteran of ABC News, leaves her post as Senior Producer of the network's flagship program, "World News with Diane Sawyer," to fill the role. The new CCO position serves as another step forward in Freshwire's mission to merge the storytelling talents of media, marketing and public relations professionals on behalf of consumer brands' growing need for digital content. Amos joins Freshwire's team of seasoned editors, writers, researchers, videographers, photographers and social media content specialists. "The agility, accuracy and fast-paced decision-making skills that come with producing content in a traditional newsroom are the sharpest competitive edge a brand can give itself today," says Amos. "I couldn't be more excited to amplify that ability within Freshwire's content engine model, and to help brands power their digital channels with the highest caliber of real-time, engaging digital content." At "World News with Diane Sawyer," Amos oversaw all of the show's digital content, integration and social media, as well as various aspects of the day-to-day broadcast. She contributed daily content to the top-ranked "Yahoo!-ABC News Network," engaged World News fans through reporting and high-quality visuals, and integrated ABC News' digital content into the broadcast. Other accolades included creating an interactive website for the popular series Made in America and leading the digital integration and content creation for a series of Diane Sawyer exclusives, including her interviews with Jaycee Dugard, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, and the historic release of Jacqueline Kennedy audio tapes. She also received an Emmy as part of the team providing field coverage of the 2007 California wildfires. Prior to joining "World News," Amos worked as an edit room and field producer for "Good Morning America" and the National Desk, where she covered a wide range of captivating and historic stories, including the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the "Miracle on the Hudson" plane crash and the Bernie Madoff scandal. "Sarah's award-winning content has grabbed the attention of people across the globe," says Shawn Amos, Freshwire CEO. "Her award-winning track record in the traditional newsroom will no doubt translate into an invaluable asset in Freshwire's virtual newsrooms." Freshwire has developed custom content engines for a range of international brands. In addition to being supported by Freshwire's core creative staff, the virtual newsrooms are powered by handpicked teams of journalists whose experience at outlets like Rolling Stone, MTV and Fox News fuels a constant stream of compelling digital content. Freshwire content ranges from Web video series to long and short-form editorial and blogs, social media writing, infographics, slideshows and more.
