Shares of Fifth Third Bancorp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FITB#NASDAQ">FITB</a>) rose during Friday's session after the company reported better-than-expected <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/FITB/earnings">quarterly financial results</a>.
Fifth Third Bancorp posted adjusted earnings of 76 cents per share, beating market estimates of 70 cents per share. The company's sales came in at $2.100 billion versus expectations of $2.086 billion, according to data from <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga Pro</a>.
Fifth Third Bancorp shares gained 4.2% to $35.67 on Friday.

Fifth Third Bancorp Reports Upbeat Earnings, Joins Metropolitan Bank Holding, Paramount Global And Other Big Stocks Moving Higher On Friday

Cannabis is a "competitive industry," and those looking to build their business should "embrace it," says Kevin Hart, founder and CEO of Green Check Verified, a leader in banking solutions for the cannabis industry.
To get the much-needed capital, all you need to do is not be afraid of the competitive environment, Hart told those gathered at the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/events/cannabis-conference/">Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference</a> in Florida on Tuesday.
"There&#8217;s access to financial and business services at your fingertips," Hart said, adding, "You just have to be prepared to share some information."
For Adam Stettner, founder and CEO of FundCanna, &#8220;that information is how the money will be used." Stetter joined Hart and two other industry experts, Ryan Himmel, VP and head of strategic partnerships at LeafLink and Sahar Ayinehsazian, a partner in Vicente LLP&#8216;s Los Angeles office. The panel was moderated by Jeanne M. Sullivan, chief investment officer at Arcview Ventures.

The panelist discussed the complexities of banking for cannabis businesses, outlining best practices for financial fitness and strategies for achieving banking access.
As the head of the company that provides access to flexible capital for the cannabis industry, Stettner is most interested in how the "money will be applied and what the repayment terms look like,' while thinking about"what the loopholes are," in terms of the borrows financial fitness and strength.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-what-does-being-fit-mean">What Does Being Fit Mean?</h3>
When assessing if someone is fit as a borrower, the main parameter is cash flow, he said.

"It&#8217;s very hard to determine how you qualify for repayment and how that repayment will impact your business if you don&#8217;t have a baseline of revenue from which to calculate," Stettner explained.
Vicente LLP&#8217;s Ayinehsazian said being fit for banking means your business is at the "pinnacle of fitness."
Why? That's due to banking being closely related to the many different aspects of a business, including being compliant with operations, running smoothly with corporate records being in order, she explained.
"You&#8217;re also fit for a surprise visit from a regulator, you&#8217;re also fit for a potential investor or a potential lender to come in and take a look at you," Ayinehsazian noted.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-know-what-you-are-dealing-with">Know What You Are Dealing With</h3>
She also emphasized cannabis operators need to understand the price paid for capital and the potential ‘ripple effects' that come with it.
"There&#8217;s no such thing as a free lunch," Ayinehsazian said. "So if you are able to access capital, but it seems a little bit too good to be true, it probably is a little bit too good to be true."
LeafLink&#8217;s Himmel, representing the industry&#8217;s wholesale platform that focuses on cannabis businesses being more fit as it relates to banking, has a similar opinion.
One of the most important aspects of any company's financial fitness is knowing how to rationalize tools at its disposal and making data-driven decisions, he said.
Cannabis businesses need to "have the ability to manage inventory," to avoid "causing bad unhealthy behavior such as channel stuffing in the market."
"We cannot be in a situation in a year from now, where we still have states where there&#8217;s three years worth of inventory at the wholesale level," Himmel continued.
Instead, he is proposing more consolidation and providing cannabis operators with more value in a single unified experience to help them be "better fit to get banking services."
After all, cannabis operators don&#8217;t want to be burdened with regulations on the financial side of their businesses, as Green Check&#8217;s Hart noted.
To address that, Green Check is working on providing availability and creating that "frictionless environment so you don&#8217;t injure yourself and you know have problems of having to go out and get new bank accounts and everything."

If the price remains strong above this mark, the next target for buyers would be our support level at 498.93. A stable 498.93 during regular trading hours could set the stage for a push to 500.17.
The high target for the bulls today in SPY is set at 501.74. Conversely, if the level of 497.55 fails to hold as support, the focus shifts to the bears aiming to test the strength at 496.93. A presence of sellers could drive the price lower to 495.96. Breaking this down under heavy selling pressure could take us to a firmer support level at 494.93. A particularly rough sell-side session today might see our lowest bear target at 493.24.
<h3>Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1</h3>
The QQQ (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/qqq#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>), commonly known as the Q&#39;s, is trading around a crucial level of 420.76. For the bulls, maintaining this level as support is essential, with a goal to rise to 422.16, which is hoped to be secured as a strong support. If buyers remain dominant, 423.27 could soon come into play. A robust day of buying could extend the price further to 424.04.
The ultimate bullish target for today for the Q&#39;s is 425.77. If the auction struggles to maintain above 420.76, bears may seize control and push the price down to 419.89. A display of market weakness could further depress prices to 419.19. If bearish momentum persists, we might see a drop to 418.49. Should this level not sustain, the bears could drive the price down to our lowest target of the day at 417.49.
<h3>Apple Inc.</h3>
Apple&#39;s&nbsp;(NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/aapl#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) current trading level is at 167.09. For bullish traders, holding this as a base is critical, with an eye on escalating the price to 167.59. If bullish conditions prevail, we might see an increase up to 168.00. With continued control by the bulls, the target is to elevate further to our highest bull target of the day at 168.41.
If Apple cannot maintain 167.09 as a supportive level during the regular trading hours, a downward correction to 166.27 is likely. With ongoing selling pressure, the price might be pushed further down to 165.62. If this trend continues, 164.71 could be tested next. If this level fails under selling strain, bears may drive the price down to the lowest target of the day at 164.15.
<h3>Microsoft Corp.</h3>

Bulls will look to sustain this level, with aspirations to ascend to 402.74 and secure it as a strong support within regular trading hours. Meta&nbsp;(NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/meta#NASDAQ">META</a>) is currently positioned around our level of 495.54. Bulls need to ensure that this level remains strong as support, with an upward target set at 498.03. A robust buying session could push the price higher to 500.83. If bullish momentum continues, the high bull target for Meta today is set at 504.54.
If 495.54 cannot hold during regular trading hours, bears might push the price down to 492.33. Increased selling could bring further declines to 488.81. If this level does not hold, the auction could bring Meta down to our lowest bear target of the day at 485.96.
<h3>Tesla Inc.</h3>
Tesla&#39;s&nbsp;(NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/tsla#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) trading action starts today around the key level of 146.46. Bulls aim to propel the price upwards to 148.45. Continued buying interest could rally the stock to 150.98. A positive broader market influence today might see Tesla reaching higher levels at 152.97. If buyer activity is strong, our high bull target for Tesla today is 155.78.
If Tesla fails to maintain 146.46 as a solid support in today&#39;s session, bears could lead a downturn to 145.07. Persistent selling might bring the price further down to 143.67. If this critical level succumbs, a price drop to our lowest bear target for the day at 141.94 could occur.

The Bitcoin halving, an event that occurs roughly every four years, is when the amount of new tokens released each block, which typically lasts around 10 minutes, is halved. Effectively, this lowers the amount of selling pressure, as some people will instantly sell new tokens as soon as they receive them. In theory, this should provide strong upward pressure on the price. In the past, the halvings have been a catalyst for price appreciation, sending the token to new highs each time.&nbsp;
So, the halving's importance is recognized by nearly every Bitcoin enthusiast, as it has significantly impacted the price in the past. Both BlackRock and Coinbase released new blog posts and ad campaigns stressing the importance of this event.
BlackRock is the world's largest asset manager with a total of $10.5 trillion in assets under management (AUM). It was also one of the firms that released a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) in January, with its ETF trading under the name IBIT. The ETF has been the most successful of the ETFs, attracting over $17 billion in investment.&nbsp;

In <a href="https://www.ishares.com/us/insights/what-is-the-bitcoin-halving">a blog post</a> earlier this week, Jay Jacobs, BlackRock's head of Thematic and Active ETFs, said, "Historically, Bitcoin performance has been positive leading into and in the year of and immediately following halving events" but also that "each subsequent halving has had a smaller impact on Bitcoin's inflation schedule. With about 94% of all Bitcoin already mined, future issuance represents a small fraction of the circulating supply, potentially reducing the comparison to historical halving events. Moreover, Bitcoin has been around since only 2009, so a sample size of just three prior halvings makes it difficult to place confidence in the accuracy of this narrative."
The blog post described what the halving entails and the historical impacts, ultimately calling investors to take a closer look at the IBIT ETF and consider investing.
Coinbase also released an <a href="https://twitter.com/coinbase/status/1779902729860591745">ad campaign</a> surrounding the halving. The ad shows how many pizzas can be purchased with one Bitcoin, starting with one in 2012 and leading up to a mound of pizzas in 2024. The ad states that "roughly every four years, the future supply of Bitcoin is reduced. So historically, you get more, not less." The ad has an interesting take on the visual representation of Bitcoin's price increases, ultimately stating that "Bitcoin moves money forward."&nbsp;
The halving is undeniably an important event for Bitcoin. This was made apparent through large companies putting huge investments into spreading the word about the halving and calling for investment. With the halving expected to occur today, it will be interesting to see how the price of Bitcoin will react.&nbsp;
