Lean Hog Futures Higher

April lean hogs are trading at 68.10, up 0.47 cents/lb. June lean hogs are trading at 77.95, up 0.32 cents/lb Lean hog futures are trading a little higher just after the open. Chatter about cash prices and trade policy is making the rounds. Tuesday's USDA hog slaughter was 442,000 head versus 437,000 head a year ago. The total hog slaughter for the week is now 883,000 head versus 841,000 head a year ago.
