General Electric Doubles S&P 500 Index's Decline

General Electric Company GE shares are trading lower by $0.86 at $27.44 in Thursday's session. It is down nearly twice as much as the S&P 500 Index, which is lower by 1.5 percent compared to the issue's 3 percent decline.

After a lower open, it barely rallied into the $28 handle as the rally ended at $28.03. The ensuing decline easily sliced through the pair of lows from Monday ($27.76) and Tuesday ($27.75), falling to $27.33. That low coincides with its October 7 low ($27.32).
