S&P 500 Index Futures Trading Higher

S&P 500 index futures were trading higher by 19 points at 1968 in Thursday's session. The rally from the pre-market session has followed through into the regular session.

So far, the index has found resistance at 1973.50 and retreated to its current level. That is still well shy of the post-mini crash recovery high of 1992.75 that was made on August 28.

All but one of the top 10 components in the index are in the green. Only the biggest component, Apple Inc. AAPL is in the red by $0.34 at $112.

Leading the way on the upside is Exxon Mobil XOM, which has added $1.27 to $74.50. It is followed by Wells Fargo WFC shares which are trading higher by $0.78 at $52.77.
