S&P 550 index futures are trading higher by over one point at 2104.77 in Thursday's session. After a quiet premarket and after-hours session, the index is attempting to follow through on Wednesday's strong gain. So far, the front-month contract (September) has reached 2106.75, which is shy of its June 4 high (2108.25). If that level is breached there may be additional resistance at its June 5 high (2113.25). At this time, the top ten components are mixed. Leading the way on upside is the index's top component Apple Inc. AAPL -- shares are trading higher by $0.67 at $129.55. It's followed by Johnson & Johnson JNJ shares, which are trading higher, and flirting with the $100 per share mark.
