People love to tweet when they travel.  They especially love to complain about airlines.

Here are the airlines people talk about most on social:

As you can see, Southwest and Delta easily get the most social mentions.

But that's just half the story…

That's a chart showing the social sentiment of each airline compared to its industry average.  

Obviously, discount providers Southwest Airlines Co (NYSE: LUV) and Spirit Airlines Incorporated (NASDAQ: SAVE) are underperforming in a big way, while Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE: DAL) and JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ: JBLU) tend to have happier customers. 

What to watch for:

LikeFolio is watching these numbers for large divergences from the norm.  

For example, if Spirit's social volume climbs dramatically, or Delta's social sentiment drops significantly, there could be a shift in consumer behavior and an opportunity in the stock.
