Shares of Mission NewEnergy (NASDAQ: MNEL), the San Antonio, TX renewable energy company, rose 40% Monday on 19 times the average daily volume.

Company President James Garton told Benzinga there was no news to account for the share price rise.

Mission NewEnergy closed at $1.89 on Monday.

Blue Dolphin Energy

Shares of Blue Dolphin Energy (NASDAQ: BDCO), the Houston, TX pipeline transportation company, rose 80% Monday on 25 times the average daily volume.

Shares of Blue Dolphin rose as part of a strong energy group on Monday. A company spokesperson said there was no news that would cause such a huge move.

Blue Dolphin Energy closed at $9.35 on Monday.

Nexxus Lighting

Shares of Nexxus Lighting (NASDAQ: NEXS), the Charlotte, NC LED lighting company, rose 28% Monday on 7 times the average daily volume.

Nexxus announced Monday that its new Array LED BR30 replacement light bulb, which will be available commercially in March 2012, incorporates a new enhanced dimming circuit and patented 2nd generation Selective Heat Sink Technology, allowing for significant reductions in material cost and weight. The BR30 will produce the same light output as a 65 watt incandescent bulb while consuming less than ten watts, and has been designed to exceed ENERGY STAR performance standards. The lamp will be introduced initially at a price below $29.00.
