Do you hate doing basic housework? Perhaps you would rather spend your weekends relaxing than mowing the grass. Don't worry, Tesla Motors Inc TSLA's CEO Elon Musk has you covered.
Musk has teamed up with other leaders in the nonprofit artificial intelligence group Open AI to design a robot that will "perform basic housework."
A robot can be designed to follow simple tasks that the owner asks of it to perform. The robot will also be able to ask for clarification if it does not understand the task on hand.
"There are existing techniques for specific tasks, but we believe that learning algorithms can eventually be made reliable enough to create a general-purpose robot," Open AI said in its blog post.
However, don't go ahead and cancel your Saturday morning tee-off time just yet as your robot replacement to perform household chores isn't coming any time.
Open AI added in its blog post that they are "just getting started" on these projects.
