The originally scheduled ship date for the Kindle Fire was Tuesday, November 15 but Amazon is "thrilled" to get the device to customers early, said Dave Limp, Vice President, Amazon Kindle in a statement. Amazon also announced that the Fire tablet is already the best selling item on Amazon.com. "Based on customer response we're building millions more than we'd planned," said Limp.
At the moment it looks like not everyone who pre-ordered a Kindle Fire have seen their ship. This early shipping may only apply to those who pre-ordered early in the game while leaving out customers who waited a few weeks.
Current shipping estimates for the Kindle Fire, priced at $199, are "3 to 5 days."
In addition to the Kindle Fire shipping early, Amazon also announced the Kindle Touch 3G and Kindle Touch will ship Tuesday. The two devices were not originally scheduled to ship until November 21.
