Erickson Inc was organized under the laws of the State of Delaware in 2000. The Company, along with its subsidiaries, provides aviation services to commercial and government customers. It also maintains a vertically-integrated manufacturing capability for the Aircrane, related components and aftermarket support and maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the Aircrane and other aircraft. Its fleet supports a Government and Commercial customers, across many aerial services, including critical supply and logistics for deployed military forces, humanitarian relief, firefighting, timber harvesting, infrastructure construction, and crewing. The Company's operating segments include: Aerial Services, which consisted of firefighting, timber harvesting, infrastructure construction, and crewing; and Manufacturing, which consisted of aftermarket support and maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the Aircrane and other aircraft and the remanufacture of Aircranes and related components. The Company leases its aircraft to customers for specific missions, with customers generally paying for the aircraft, maintenance, and crewing services, and in some cases, fuel expense. The Company currently operates fleet of 90 rotary-wing and fixed wing aircraft, including a fleet of 20 heavy-lift helicopter that it manufactures in-house. The Company is subject to increasingly stringent federal, state, local, and foreign environmental laws and regulations concerning, among other things, water discharges, air emissions, hazardous material and waste management, and environmental cleanup.
