Benzinga Fintech Interview: TipRanks CEO & Co-Founder, Uri Gruenbaum

Built as a response to the plethora of financial advice and alleged experts on the Internet, TipRanks is one of the contestants in this year’s Benzinga Fintech Awards. Benzinga recently interviewed Uri Gruenbaum, CEO and co-founder at TipRanks, about how TipRanks functions and what makes it unique.

What Was The Spark For TipRanks?

“TipRanks was founded two and a half years ago. The reason I founded is actually pretty simple: I followed bad advice that I came across online that made me lose some money.”

“My wife asked me why did I take that specific investment and I told her that some financial expert that seems to know a lot recommended to invest in that stock. [This experience] made me think that there is no way for us as retail investors to evaluate advice we are picking online ” Gruenbaum said.

How Has TipRanks Developed Over Time?

On the growth his company has seen since inception, Gruenbaum said, “When we started the company, we actually didn’t want to create a website where we can do the research. We focused on a browser add-on, which is given away for free and we wanted to market under the theme of financial safeguard.
