Zecco Shows Facebook Users How to be "Liked"

It's not easy being liked, especially if you're on Facebook. Sure, you might get a few friends to “like” a photo of your new puppy or a video of your colleagues dancing to Nicki Minaj. But if you want to get some serious attention and raise your “likability” on the Internet, you've got to offer more than the average Facebook post. In trying to accomplish just that, Zecco.com – an online, social media-oriented broker – decided to produce a video to show the things that set the company apart from the competition. That goal, however, was easier said than done, as the production proved to be more challenging than Zecco had anticipated. zecco_outtakes.jpg But as it turned out, the many outtakes proved to be a happy accident for Zecco, which turned the video into a Facebook sensation that asks visitors to answer the following question: “How many bloopers before our actor nails it?” See the full video on Zecco's Facebook page. I've taken the challenge, and while I cannot tell you the answer, I can give you one tiny hint: my guess was dead wrong! In addition to this amusing clip, Zecco is also hosting a contest that challenges traders to send in a picture of their favorite trading setup or the craziest place they would like to trade. The winner(s) will get one of three iPad 2s. Lastly, the company also provides a set of educational YouTube videos. With these elements, a growing Twitter page (follow @Zecco), and a highly dedicated community of traders on its own site, Zecco has shown that it knows a thing or two about being “liked” in social media. Remember that the next time you want to post a YouTube video of a nerdy kid trying to sing. That kind of stuff is so 2009.
