National Parent and Child Play Day to be Hosted

Yonkers, New York (PRWEB) August 29, 2016

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center has declared a "National Parent and Child Play Day" celebrating the benefits of families taking time-out and engaging in creative play. Coinciding with National Working Parents Day on Friday, September 16, the nine indoor LEGO® playgrounds based on LEGO® play will offer a series of family-focused games and activities including parent-and-child Build & Test races, model-building challenges and more.

The Centers are showing appreciation for parents in a letter distributed to workplaces across the country and in Canada with a special "Adults Go Free" offer valid from now through to September 16.

The announcement follows Project: Time Off's recent report, "The Work Martyr's Children," which revealed Americans are taking less vacation time than at any point in the last forty years and showcases the impressive benefits of quality time spent between parents and their children:

o    84% of kids ranked feeling closer to their parent as the top benefit of a parent taking time off and dedicating it to quality family time
o    60% of kids' mood dramatically improves when their parent takes time off and spends it with them
o    50% of kids say that time off also greatly enhances their parents' mood as well
o    77% of kids say that parents' time off spent with them alleviates the stress kids experience in their daily lives
