Dolphins Cancer Challenge Awards "Team of the Year" to The Keyes Company for DCC V

MIAMI, FL --(Marketwired - September 29, 2015) - The Keyes Company (http://www.keyes.com/) has been a part of the South Florida landscape for 90 years. Part of the company mission has always been to be actively involved in the local community and, this has led to a partnership with the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC), with the goal of raising money for groundbreaking research in the fight against cancer. For the 2015 edition of the DCC, the Keyes team raised $168,885 from 149 riders, 30 day-of volunteers, and the company sponsored a water stop along the cycling route. This all-out blitz on fighting cancer led the DCC to award their prestigious "Team of the Year" award to the Keyes Company.

On hand from The Keyes Company to receive the award this past week at the DCC Heavy Hitters awards banquet from Mike Mandich, DCC CEO, and Dan Marino, Hall of Fame Dolphins' Quarterback, were Christina Pappas, Assistant District Sales Manager, Paula Renaldo, Chief Marketing Officer, and Maribel Reyes, wife of the late Keyes CFO Walter Reyes. Walter Reyes was the force that led The Keyes Company's fundraising and participation efforts, both within the company and in the community, before being tragically killed this year while training for the event.

Paula Renaldo added after the event that, "I'm incredibly proud to work for a company that wants to make a difference for people in our community and everywhere who have been affected by cancer. It starts with having people who care, and our late CFO, Walter Reyes, personified this. It was his drive and enthusiasm that allowed us to contribute so much to a great cause, and we want to accept this award in his honor."
