Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center Chooses Boopsie to Develop Custom Mobile Solution that Supports Transition to Digital Resources

Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) August 28, 2015

Boopsie, Inc. today announced it has signed Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC), a multi-service language school for active and reserve components, foreign military students, and civilian personnel working in the federal government and various law enforcement agencies. DLIFLC's decision to collaborate with Boopsie to support their transition to digital resources demonstrates that the leading mobile platform-as-a-services provider for libraries worldwide is gaining traction in the military library market.

"Boopsie is the ideal partner for military libraries as we aim to increase productivity while maintaining the security that's important to these institutions," says Tony Medrano, Boopsie's CEO, a former U.S. Naval Officer. "This partnership with DLIFLC gives us the unique opportunity to help one of the finest schools for advanced military education in the world focus on their mission while leaving the ever-changing technical aspects of mobile application build and usability to us."

Boopsie is working with DLIFLC to develop a mobile application for military libraries using its proprietary platform to provide the approximately 3,500 soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen, Department of Defense members and Coast Guard personnel enrolled in graduate school level language programs at the institution with seamless access to authoritative content from trusted aggregators and publishers including EBSCOhost, EBSCO EDS and OverDrive. The app will connect users to these high quality resources on a user-friendly interface.

"Our students are often unaware of the vast number of resources that are available to them through the Library and we don't have the technical support to build a tool that will address this issue," says Melanie Barney, Public Services Librarian at DLIFLC's Aiso Library. "By partnering with Boopsie, we're looking to increase the usage of resources by streamlining the research process, dramatically decreasing the number of steps it takes for these students to access the information that they need. Offering a DLIFLC-branded, customized version of the apps that Boopsie has been testing and perfecting for the last six years means we can focus on what matters: supporting the education of the U.S. Armed Forces."
