iHire recognized with a Silver Award as one of 20 Frederick County businesses dedicated to improving employee health and wellbeing

Frederick, Maryland (PRWEB) July 07, 2015

iHire was recognized with a Silver Award as one of 20 Frederick County businesses dedicated to improving employee health and wellbeing. The Healthy Workplace Recognition Program is a partnership between Frederick Regional Health System, Frederick County Health Department, and Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, and the annual awards ceremony was held on June 11, 2015.

To be considered for an award, iHire completed the CDC Worksite Health Scorecard, a tool that helps employers assess whether they have implemented evidence-based health strategies in their workplace to prevent heart disease, stroke, and related conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity. Minimum score requirements are based on employer size, and there are four award levels: On the Path, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. iHire's diverse offerings include regular lunch ‘n' learns, monthly newsletters, quarterly wellness challenges, healthy food and beverage options in the breakroom, and volunteer opportunities within the community.

"We are honored to be recognized as a Frederick County business that is committed to our employees' physical and mental wellbeing," said Lisa Shuster, iHire's Chief Administrative Officer. "iHire's culture is one of wellness as well as innovation, flexibility, and collaboration, and every day we see the positive impact this has on our company's success."

By filling out the Worksite Health Scorecard, iHire is also a member of Healthiest Maryland Businesses. Healthiest Maryland Businesses supports organizations in creating workplaces where the healthy choice is the easy choice with an emphasis on assessment, use of evidence-based strategies, and evaluation.
