SMITHTOWN, NEW YORK (PRWEB) April 18, 2015

Review of Ophthalmology magazine and Abbot Medical Optics, Inc. (AMO) are hosting a ‘Strategies for Success' program for cataract surgeons attending the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons meeting in San Diego, where eye surgeon Jeffrey L. Martin, MD will serve as AMO's ‘Distinguished Moderator' for this invitation-only event. Dr. Martin is the Managing Partner of North Shore Eye Care.

AMO and Review of Ophthalmology chose Dr. Martin to lead this year's discussion on the latest breakthroughs in cataract laser and lens implant technology because of his experience and expertise as an anterior segment eye surgeon. "Our success and patient satisfaction with AMO's Tecnis intraocular lens implant (IOL) and their entire family of cataract lenses is one of the reasons North Shore Eye Care has become the preferred choice for cataract care on Long Island," said Dr. Martin. "I look forward to sharing our strategies for success with my colleagues from around the country, many of whom are the finest cataract surgeons I know."

This year's American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons meeting is being held April 18-21 and will host thousands of refractive surgeons from around the world who perform cataract surgery. It is the largest ophthalmology meeting of refractive surgeons of its kind and will feature guest lecturers from more than 20 countries.

During his roundtable discussions, Dr. Martin will discuss the AMO's latest IOL technology and the selection process for ensuring that patients enjoy optimal visual results. He will also share what are known as ‘Best Practice Clinical Pearls' and discuss how cataract surgeons can maximize patient outcomes with AMO's premium IOL product line.

"There is no doubt that AMO's line of premium IOLs are among the finest in the world, which is why they are quickly becoming the IOLs of choice for my colleagues around the world," said Dr. Martin. This invitation-only event will be held at Osetra in San Diego from 7-9 pm on Sunday, April 19, 2015 with interactive discussions that explore a wide variety of topics relevant to today's refractive surgery practitioners.
