PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Symphony Communication Services LLC , a secure communication and workflow technology company, announced today that its platform will be integrated with Box, the world's leading enterprise software platform for content collaboration. The partnership was announced in a keynote presentation at Box's premier developer conference, Box Dev, which took place in San Francisco and attracted more than 1,500 developers and entrepreneurs.

With this integration, Symphony enhances the functionality of its platform by allowing secure file management for its users, which make up the world's leading financial institutions, as well as other professionals that use Symphony to communicate and share high value information. Professionals will now be able to share content pieces securely and with customized entitlements, allowing for file trackability. Likewise, the integration means that the 45,000 paying businesses that rely on Box for content management, including those in the financial services space, will have simplified access to Symphony's secure communication platform.

"We are pleased to now offer our customers the ability to share content in Box within Symphony's secure messaging and workflow platform," says Paul Teyssier, product manager at Symphony. "Symphony and Box both deeply understand the needs of regulated industries like financial services, where security and control over information is critical. This integration of our highly complementary services sets us apart from other enterprise collaboration and messaging platforms by providing secure, seamless communication with an increasing array of functions. As Symphony expands, we plan to look for similar opportunities to continue to bring value to our clients in a range of industries."

With this integration, Symphony adds to its growing list of partners for bringing a well-rounded collaboration and communication platform to its users. In December 2014, Symphony announced the acquisition of technology assets developed by Markit, which provides users a secure directory for managing contacts across the financial services industry.

"At Box, we're focused on powering a thriving ecosystem of developers to build products that transform the enterprise," said Chris Yeh, senior vice president of Product and Platform at Box. "We're thrilled to welcome new partners like Symphony to the Box ecosystem and introduce new tools that make it incredibly easy to integrate on the Box platform and extend the value of our service to companies around the world."
