CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Today on-demand parking app SpotHero announced that it acquired ParkPlease, a parking platform that connects parking space owners to drivers who are looking for parking. This acquisition complements SpotHero's 78 parking facilities, with up to 250 additional neighboring locations, giving SpotHero the biggest selection of parking options of any parking app in San Francisco.

"SpotHero has seen incredible growth in San Francisco since our launch 4 months ago. We've been doubling the number of customers using SpotHero each month and we want to ride this momentum by expanding our parking offerings even more," said Mark Lawrence, SpotHero CEO and co-founder. "Our mission is to make life easier for drivers, and acquiring ParkPlease's parking spots will help us achieve that goal."

"Both SpotHero and ParkPlease are highly focused on creating excellent parking experiences for drivers while taking care of our communities of sellers. It was an easy choice to join forces with SpotHero and now everyone will benefit greatly from the company's growing demand and easy to use platform," said Charlie Ansanelli, founder and CEO of ParkPlease.

With this acquisition, SpotHero is bolstering its strong network of parking locations by adding hundreds of new private parking spots in areas of the city that don't have great parking garage options. San Francisco drivers will begin to see these new parking spots appear on the SpotHero platform in the coming weeks, just in time for the Spring & Summer festivals, including Outside Lands, for which the city is famous.

In addition to San Francisco, SpotHero makes life easier for drivers in major cities across the country including New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., Boston and most recently New Orleans, Baltimore and Denver. Drivers love SpotHero because it offers a sense of control over their parking experience by allowing them to quickly find a spot near their destination, see how much it costs, reserve and pay for it using their phone or the web. No long wait times, no circling the block, just easy parking in convenient garages, lots and valets for a great price.

An added benefit of using SpotHero is that when drivers travel to one of the other 12+ cities where SpotHero operates, they can use the same reliable service that they do at home. Drivers also have access to SpotHero's customer support via phone, email and social media 7 days a week.
