Trina Jashinsky to Join Journal Communications as Vice President of Human Resources

MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Journal Communications announced today that Trina Jashinsky will join the company as Vice President of Human Resources.

As an integral part of Journal's senior leadership team, Jashinsky will be responsible for guiding and managing the overall provision of HR services, policies and programs for Journal Communications. Following the close of the proposed transaction between Journal Communications and The E.W. Scripps Company, she will oversee these areas for the new Journal Media Group.

Her responsibilities will include recruiting and staffing, performance management, organizational development, employment and compliance to regulatory concerns, employee development and training, policy development and documentation, compensation and benefits administration, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and employee relations.

Jashinsky joins Journal from Fiserv, where she served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for the Credit Union Solutions and Open Solutions divisions. Prior to her tenure at Fiserv, she spent seven years with Johnson Controls as Vice President, Corporate Human Resources Global, and Director, Global Human Resources Programs and Human Resources Information Management.

She also worked for 12 years as the Vice President – Human Resources of Norlight Telecommunications, then a subsidiary of Journal Communications based in Brookfield, Wis.

Jashinsky holds a BA in Public Administration/Personnel Management from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, Wisconsin and an Masters of Industrial and Labor Relations from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

She will begin with Journal on February 16.
