Death of an Inmate at Joliette Institution

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 27, 2014) - Correctional Service Canada

On November 27, 2014, Ms. Claudette Verret, an inmate at Joliette Institution, died at a local Centre de sante et de services sociaux.

At the time of her death, Ms Verret, 66 years old, had been serving a life sentence for first degree murder since November 9, 2009.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of her death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
