Learn how to turn a 2D HDRI image or Skybox Texture into a 360° viewing area with ProWorld from Pixel Film Studios. This plugin allows editors to map an HDRI or Skybox texture onto a 3D environment in FCPX. ProWorld also gives users the ability to add text, logos, or keyed footage to their 3D world.

The ProWorld Lesson video from Pixel Film Studios allows Final Cut Pro X users to project a 2 dimensional HDRI map or Sky Box Texture onto a 3D sphere or box.

With the 3D camera, editors can pan, tilt, and dolly around their environment to observer their world from unique and interesting perspectives. ProWorld is a great tool for turning a stagnant photo into a fun and engaging journey. Users can create a HDRI or Skybox environment map using 3D software's such as Cinema 4D or Blender. Or download prefabricated textures from sites like HDRmaps.com and HDRlabs.com.

The editor begins by selecting our HDRI map in the FCPX media library and dragging it to the timeline. Next, scan through the ProWorld presets in the FCPX Generators Library.

Users can setup the ProWorld generator by selecting the generator in the timeline. Then, go to the FCPX Inspector Window and click on the Drop Zone icon. Select an image in the timeline, and click the blue "Apply Clip" button in the FCPX Viewer window. Once the image is inside ProWorld, add text to the scene.

Users can animate a 3D camera. Place the playhead at the front of the ProWorld generator. Go to the “Camera Controls” section of the Inspector Window. Now, move and rotate the camera to the desired start position. Then, place a keyframe on the camera position and rotation parameters.
