Funding Will Provide Scholarships and Assistance to Lakewood High School Students

BOSTON, June 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Santander Bank, N.A. announced today that it recently signed an agreement with Ocean County College through which its Santander Universities division will provide funding to support programs for low-income Lakewood High School students.

"By investing in the students of Ocean County College, we are investing in their future," said Eduardo Garrido, Director of Santander Universities US. "The funding from this agreement will provide students in underserved communities with academic support to prepare for college and financial assistance to pursue their studies at Ocean County College."

Ocean County College will use the funding from Santander Universities to provide scholarships to Lakewood High School graduates. In addition to tuition, recipients will receive academic and personal support. Ocean County College will also use the funding to help Lakewood High School students prepare for college. It will offer workshops for parents and guardians and assistance with filling out the application to Ocean County College.
