San Diego, Calif. (PRWEB) January 13, 2014

Cubic Corporation CUB announced a new sustainability initiative to help its employees reduce home energy use and produce clean solar energy, conducted in partnership with the California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE).

The new program provides free guidance for employees on home energy improvements and includes access to competitive financing, helping employees manage the up-front costs of energy upgrades.

"Cubic is committed to energy efficiency and conservation,” said Brad Feldmann, president and chief operating officer of Cubic Corporation. “We are pleased to offer this unique program that will help our employees make a similar contribution to the environment in their homes as well.”

Beginning in late January, experts from CCSE, a San Diego-based nonprofit organization, will help Cubic employees with prioritizing home energy improvements, identifying quality contractors and accessing incentives. Measures such as adding insulation and sealing leaky ducts can help homeowners reduce their utility bills, ensure comfortable temperatures in the home and improve indoor air quality. Rooftop solar panels contribute clean, renewable energy to the local power grid.

“CCSE has been helping homeowners, businesses and governments change the way they use energy for more than 15 years,” said Len Hering, retired U.S Navy Rear Admiral, executive director of CCSE. “We're proud to partner with Cubic to help them meet their greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals and positively impact employee health and wellness.”

The program is being implemented in a pilot phase for Cubic's San Diego-area employees, with funding provided by the San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative. The employer-based program model was developed by the Clinton Foundation.
