FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

ICF International ICFI, a leading provider of consulting services, health informatics and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, has been awarded a new contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to provide support to the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR). The contract, which was awarded in the third quarter of 2013, has a total value of $8.2 million and a term of one base year and four option years.

Under this contract, ICF will support the CDC, and the NCEH/ATSDR's Information Services Team (IST) with a broad range of activities to ensure that critical information technology (IT) platforms are available to support the CDC's mission. Additionally, ICF will securely manage important health data for NCEH/ATSDR scientists so that they can better understand the causes of diseases, promote healthy behaviors, determine the threats of toxic substances, and monitor the health of the nation. Specifically, these activities include asset operations and maintenance support as well as custom development, modernization, enhancement, consolidation, replacement, and IT data management services.

“Having been engaged in toxicological research for many years, ICF is very excited to support NCEH/ATSDR in this new capacity,” said Terence R. McKittrick, vice president for ICF International. “We look forward to the opportunity to help NCEH/ATSDR improve business processes, create efficiencies, support scientific systems, and provide increased value through this important program.”
