Belvidere Fire and Police Host Blood Drives with Rock River Valley Blood Center

Thursday, January 31, 2013 Belvidere Police and Fire Departments will host blood drives in their semi-annual competition, Battle of the Badges. The competition, which started in 2007, is taking place during National Blood Donor Month. The department that brings in the most donations wins the traveling trophy until the next drive, which is proudly displayed at their respective department.

The drive times are: 11am-2pm at Belvidere Police Department, 615 N. Main St, in Belvidere and 3:30pm-6:30pm at the Belvidere Fire Department, 123 South State St in Belvidere. To donate at the Police Dept. contact Dave Dammon at 815-547-6022. To donate at the Fire Dept. contact Al Hyser at 815-289-5110.

The Rock River Valley Blood Center serves as a centralized, community blood center and is the sole provider of blood products and services to Beloit Health Systems, Edgerton Hospital and Health Services, FHN, Mercy Harvard Hospital, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, Rochelle Community Hospital, Rockford Health System, SwedishAmerican Health System and SwedishAmerican Medical Center—Belvidere.
