Concept Searching Study Reveals Compliance, Governance, and Migration are Key Focuses for 2013

McLean, VA, USA and Stevenage, UK (PRWEB UK) 14 January 2013

Concept Searching, a global leader in semantic metadata generation, auto-classification, and taxonomy management software, and developer of the Smart Content Framework™, has conducted a study of clients and their use of inteligent metadata enabled compliance, governance, and migration solutions which resulted in identifying a growing adoption trend. Clients such as the USAF Medical Service, the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, NASA, Brailsford & Dunlavey and a number of Government, DoD and Oil & Gas clients have deployed Concept Searching technologies to address a wide variety of industry unique challenges, far beyond improving search.

Concept Searching has been successfully deploying intelligent metadata enabled migration and compliance solutions that include semantic metadata tagging, auto-classification, taxonomy management, and search enhancements. The recent analysis was undertaken of enterprise accounts that have deployed Concept Searching solutions to identify key priorities of executives in 2013. Although improving search is always on the list, compliance and governance are increasingly becoming board room issues. Due to the explosion in unstructured content, intelligent migration solutions was also an objective for many clients.

As a result of the analysis, 33% of Concept Searching clients have deployed the technology for intelligent migration, 23% for text analytics, 29% for sensitive information and data privacy, 25% for records identification and 21% for eDiscovery and FOIA. In all accounts, the technology is also being used to improve search, either using Concept Searching's conceptSearch product or through integration with any search engine such as SharePoint, SOLR, Google Appliance, and the former Microsoft FAST products.

The analysis also included the broader market. Again the trend forward is interesting with a clear emphasis on managing migration, protection of sensitive information, and the automatic declaration of documents of records with 53% of companies looking to deploy the platform for intelligent migration, 51% for sensitive information and data privacy, 27% for records identification, 20% for eDiscovery & FOIA and only 16% for text analytics.

According to Martin Garland, President of Concept Searching, “The combination of our flexible and unique technologies, industry recognized leadership within the SharePoint environment, coupled with our platform agnostic deployment options Concept Searching continues to adapt and deliver the functionality that is needed in the marketplace. As a result of our study, enterprises are increasingly deploying the technology to resolve the issues of migration, compliance and governance, specifically in the areas of intelligent content migration, sensitive information breaches, records identification and information transparency. Solving these issues with a single technology platform drives down costs, reduces time to deploy, and deliver a quantifiable ROI.”
