Flores' Practice Focuses on Arbitration and Litigation

Mexico City, Mexico (PRWEB) January 10, 2013

Haynes and Boone, LLP Mexico City welcomed Cecilia Flores as of counsel in the Litigation/ Trial Practice Group.

Flores focuses her practice on arbitration and litigation. Her experience and creativity enable her to find the right strategies and solutions for complex and high-stake cases. Flores has successfully represented clients before both courts and arbitral tribunals.

She handles international and domestic arbitrations, both as party representative and arbitrator, under various arbitration rules, mainly on issues related to infrastructure projects, construction, energy, shareholders' disputes, joint ventures, international sale of goods, insurance and commercial transactions in general.

She represents cross border clients before state and federal courts on a broad spectrum of civil, commercial and administrative matters. Flores' experience in both arbitration and litigation matters permits her to successfully appear before the courts in proceedings requesting and enforcing interim measures, and on the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards.

For six years, Flores served as Secretary General for the Mediation and Arbitration Centre of the Mexico City National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO), where she was in charge of the administration of mediation and arbitration proceedings, both domestic and international, under the rules of CANACO, the Commercial Arbitration and Mediation Centre for the Americas and the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission.

She graduated with honors from Universidad Panamericana, where she also took a post graduate course in Commercial Law. She obtained a Masters degree with honors in International Private Law from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.

Flores teaches the negotiation, mediation and arbitration course at Universidad La Salle, and is a member of the faculty of the Arbitration Diploma Course by the ICC and the Escuela Libre de Derecho.
