On January 8, Colle Farmers Market responds to an agricultural display in Harrisburg, PA which portrayed that everyone is connected to farms, even if a person has never set foot on one in all their life.

In an article from the York Daily Record, president of the American Farm Bureau Federation Bob Stallman explained in simple terms how we are all connected to farms: "because you eat," is what he said. The American Farm Bureau Federation is a nonprofit organization which represents agricultural communities.

While farmers obviously know what they are doing to keep food safe, many people in urban and suburban areas do not, leaving the opportunity for people to become misinformed. According to the article, the goal of the “Today's Agriculture” display was to “foster transparency and trust between farmers and consumers.” In addition, “[The] exhibit at the 97th Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg [showed] how products like eggs, chicken, beef and corn are raised,” reports the York Daily Record.

The article added that the future of farming rests heavily on our generation of farmers and that keeping a clear line of communication between producer and consumer is vital for a bright future in the farming industry.
