Rentrak's President of Theatrical Worldwide, Ron Giambra commented, "Life of Pi is the new No. 1 film in the world with an estimated weekend take of $35.9 million, narrowly beating Les Miserables at $35.6 million and The Hobbit at $35.2 million. Total cumes are as follows: Life of Pi $452.2 million, Les Miserables $234.3 million and The Hobbit $886.1 million."
