International Datacasting Awarded Major Contract with Prominent U.S. Video Content Distributor
OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 22, 2013) - International Datacasting Corporation (TSX:IDC), a global leader in digital content distribution for the world's premiere broadcasters, today announces a contract with a leading North American video content distributor, valued in excess of USD $600,000 for the expansion of their network.
This contract is for IDC's SuperFlex Pro Data satellite receivers integrated with an IDC Centient(TM) head-end solution and a professional services contract. This comprehensive solution will enable IDC's customer to optimize their provision of a centralized multi-platform content management and distribution solution for television networks, advertisers, and video content providers.
This prominent U.S. based video content distributor needed to reliably, securely, and cost effectively deliver file-based programming to a large and geographically dispersed network of remote sites. IDC's integrated solution seamlessly interfaces with the customer's file-based workflow to provide an efficient and secure delivery using DVB-S2 and other next generation technologies. IDC is an established leader in datacasting technologies, with over 150 data broadcast networks deployed since pioneering the DVB standard in 1997.
"IDC's solution was selected because of its strong value proposition, a robust feature set at a very competitive price point, providing tremendous customer value," stated Del Lippert, Interim CEO and Chairman. "Also, our highest standards of customer service on the initial deployment resulted in a satisfied customer ready to entrust us with this significant next phase of their business."
This customer joins other leading U.S. video broadcasters who have repeatedly selected IDC's technology platforms to support their expanding linear and file-based content distribution requirements.
