Cincinnati, Ohio – December 5 - The law firm of Statman Harris & Eyrich, LLC is continuing its investigaiton into alleged defective product design issues, the banning of Blackhawk SERPA Holsters with an auto locking/finger release design by various entities, as well as safety concerns relating to accidental discharge while these holsters were in use. According to a May 3, 2012 memorandum from the United States Department of Agriculture, “Several law enforcement agencies, including FLETC, have experienced incidents where students and field agents/officers using Blackhawk SERPA holster have had accidental discharges resulting in personal injury and/or property damage,” and “the Blackhawk SERPA holster will immediately be banned from use in the training environment.” Additionally, members of the shooting community, such as Maryland Shooters, have reported that the Serpa Holster has been banned from use at IDPA competition (http://www.mdshooters.com posting August 17, 2011).
