The Pittsford Chamber of Commerce: Candlelight Night 2012

On December 4th, 2012 The Pittsford Chamber of Commerce is organizing Candlelight Night, a community event in the Town of Pittsford that serves to celebrate the holiday season in the Town of Pittsford. On Candlelight Night, Pittsford's Village streets will be filled with holiday cheers and the sounds of live music, carolers and sleigh bells. Holiday lights will twinkle in the night, as will the hundreds of luminaries that line the sidewalks and streets. The YMCA, the Pittsford Chamber of Commerce, the Del Monte Lodge Hotel and Spa, ESL Federal Credit Union, Rotary Club of Pittsford, the Village of Pittsford, the Town of Pittsford, and WARM 101.3 are sponsoring this year's annual holiday event.

On December 4th, 2012 The Pittsford Chamber of Commerce is organizing Candlelight Night, a community event in the Pittsford, New York that serves to celebrate the holiday season in the Town of Pittsford. This event is a local tradition that has occurred on every first Tuesday in the month of December for more than 30 years where local merchants and residents of the Town of Pittsford have joined together to celebrate the joy of the Holiday Season with tree lighting ceremonies, caroling and carriage rides in the village streets and shops.

The Pittsford Chamber of Commerce is local non-profit membership community organization that has forward minded business activity built by a strong mission: "The vision of the Pittsford Chamber of Commerce is to constructively seek and diverse business interests of the Town and Village of Pittsford and act as a positive force for its members by advancing the development of the commerce and the community in the Town of Pittsford."

On Candlelight Night, Pittsford's Village streets will be filled with holiday cheers and the sounds of live music, carolers and sleigh bells. Holiday lights will twinkle in the night, as will the hundreds of luminaries that line the sidewalks and streets. It is the perfect night for shopping, dining, and enjoying holiday festivities. The local Pittsford Town Hall will be open and visitors can stop by for refreshing cider and delicious small snacks. In addition to refreshments, many local merchants will offer special sale items.

In the previous year, the Town of Pittsford held a holiday craft activity and book sale at the Pittsford Library and arranged for a special bonfire at Northfield Common. As a Pittsford tradition, Candlelight Night provides an evening activity of fun for the whole family. There will be three (3) different tree lightings, Santa and Mrs. Claus sightings, and free horse-drawn wagon rides all night long between the center of the village and the canal. Pittsford Chamber of Commerce members and board members will have the pleasure to meet many visitors during the course of the festival.

The 2012 Candlelight Night event organized by the Pittsford Chamber of Commerce promises to be a special one, where many Pittsford residents will attended the festivity. The free horse-drawn wagon rides will offer four pick up / drop off stops: the Del Monte Lodge (41 North Main St.); Northfield Common parking lot; the Sam Patch pavilion at Schoen Place; and at the Four Corners (Main & State streets). There will also be three Santa sightings around Town – Nothnagle Realtors on South Main Street (6 - 9PM), Harmony in Wood at Northfield Common (6 - 8PM) and The Coal Tower Restaurant in Schoen Place (6 - 9PM). Mrs. Claus will share stories and treats with children at Historic Pittsford's Little House (18 Monroe Avenue) from 6 - 8PM. In 2011 Village of Pittsford Mayor Robert Corby and WARM 101.3 morning host Tony Infantino hosted three separate tree lightings; the first is at 5:30PM at the Sam Patch Pavilion in Schoen Place. Two more tree lightings followed at 6:15PM at the Four Corners (Main & State Streets) in front of the Phoenix Building and at 7:00PM at the main entrance of Northfield Common. The Holy Spirit Greek Orthodox Church Choir performed at the 7PM tree lighting.
