Engineering Solutions Firm Improves Customer Delivery with Preactor

A KARNATAKA firm is anticipating huge improvements in customer delivery thanks to new installation of innovative scheduling software.

Bangalore, India (PRWEB) November 08, 2012

QuEST (Quality Engineering and Software Technologies) Global Manufacturing has invested in Preactor scheduling software to take its global engineering solutions provision to the next level.

The firm, which is a global player in integrated product development and build, has installed Preactor's finite planning and scheduling software in its Belgaum plant to help it meet growing demand for its specialisms in precision manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication and design and development of tooling, fixtures and gauges from the aerospace, automotive and industrial industries.

Until now, QuEST has relied on spreadsheets to plan its resources for its customised, end-to-end design and manufacturing work for its clients.

But as the business continues to expand globally – it now boasts offices across the USA, Europe and Asia and employees more than 3,400 staff – it needed a more high-tech solution to effectively schedule capacity and ensure it delivers on time for customers.

QuEST worked with Preactor Group's local partner, SNic India along with Preactor Software India, to develop a bespoke solution that would meet the firm's needs and integrate with its existing ERP (enterprise resource planning) system.

Aravind Melligeri, President and CEO of QuEST, said that on-time customer delivery was the key reason for investing in Preactor software. It will enable the firm to take production-, material- and delivery-related decisions in advance, because staff would now have complete visibility of the production plan.

“Preactor became our choice because it is a global leader in production planning and scheduling,” he said.

“Its partner, SNic India, is an expert in providing industrial engineering solutions, giving us a unique offering of a good software application as well as functional expertise. We anticipate that with the implementation of Preactor, effective decisions will be taken faster to ensure total customer satisfaction.”

P J Yogesh, COO of the Preactor Group's Indian subsidiary, commented on the importance of the project.

“QuEST has always prided itself in being at the forefront of technology. It realises that state-of-the-art solutions like Preactor can help it be more competitive by offering not only a quality product but also providing the best level of customer service,” he said.
