Analysis Group, a leading provider of economic, health care, financial, and business expertise to law firms, corporations, and government agencies, announces the promotion of Gaurav Jetley to Managing Principal, and the naming of Professor Jun S. Liu as an academic affiliate.

Mr. Jetley specializes in merger economics and securities valuation. “Gaurav has had a distinguished career at Analysis Group since joining the firm in our Boston office in 1998,” said Analysis Group President and CEO Martha S. Samuelson. “He has supported experts and managed case teams in a variety of important cases involving corporate finance, securities, and contested mergers and acquisitions.”

Mr. Jetley has worked on several high-profile M&A-related matters that have involved the analysis of bid premiums, arbitrage spreads, deal terms, the adequacy of disclosures made by bidders and targets, and breach of confidentiality and standstill agreements. Those cases include Ventas v. HCP; Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. v. Vulcan Materials Company; Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan, Inc. v. BHP Billiton; and Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. v. Airgas, Inc.

Mr. Jetley's securities valuation experience includes analyzing the impact of selected disclosures on the stock price of large corporations across a variety of industries. His work includes the valuation of equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, and mortgage-backed derivative securities. Additionally, he has conducted research in risk management, arbitrage spreads, the application of real-option techniques to value drug development projects, the application of simulation techniques to value path-dependent American equity options, and corporate governance.

Mr. Jetley, who is based in our New York office, frequently publishes and presents on topics involving M&A, securities, financial analysis, and commercial damages. He earned a master's degree in finance from Boston College, an M.B.A. from Xavier Institute of Management, and a bachelor's degree in economics from Delhi University.

Professor Jun S. Liu, an internationally renowned expert in statistics, is a professor in the department of statistics at Harvard University and Harvard School of Public Health. He is also a guest professor of mathematics at Tsinghua University and of statistics at Peking University. He has provided consulting to leading multinational pharmaceutical manufacturers and has served as a principal investigator in numerous National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health programs. Dr. Liu's pioneering work in genetic research, on Monte Carlo methods for integration and optimization in complex systems, and on statistical applications in health care, finance, and engineering has had a broad impact on the theoretical understanding and practical application of statistics. “We are delighted to have a scientist of such preeminence affiliate with our firm,” said Ms. Samuelson. “Professor Liu's expertise and prominence in both the United States and China are especially valuable as we continue to support our multinational pharmaceutical clients globally and build our presence in Asia through our new Beijing office.”
